Course 1 BEGINNER NRA FIRST STEPS Pistol Orientation 4+ Hours

The NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Orientation — Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training — is the NRA’s response to the American public’s need for a firearm orientation program for new purchasers. NRA FIRST Steps Pistol is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type (either revolver or semi-automatic) for classes of four or fewer students. This course averages 4 + hours long, includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and FIRST Steps Course completion certificate.

Note: No live ammunition is allowed in the classroom at any time.

This is an NRA certification course. Please register two weeks prior to course start date.

This course will be taught by a NRA Certified Instructor and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer. We provide Everything: Firearms, Ammunition, Targets, Training material, Range time, Lunch/Refreshments and Certification. (Note: Times are approximate and actual time depends on the experience of the members of the class. Plan to spend the entire day training.)

Please fill out the form and mail it in with your $50 deposit to the address listed on

the form. After we receive your deposit, your training material will be ordered
and your seat will be reserved.

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This course averages 8 + hours and includes classroom and range time, learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn NRA rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, two handed and one handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development.

THIS COURSE MEETS FLORIDA CCW REQUIREMENTS

Course 2 INTERMEDIATE NRA Basic Pistol Shooting 8+ Hours

Students will receive the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and course completion certificate.

Caliber choices: .22, .22 MAG., .25, .380, .38, .357, 9mm, .40, .45
